suspended in a liminal space

The art quilts hold me in a liminal space between hiding and revealing — fragile pixelated impressions that tell visual stories without fixing their meaning, leaving room for interpretation and question, because to make the work fully legible would be to stand too plainly in front of the mirror that asks are you enough, do you belong, are you?

360[5] Aspects of [Be]longing

The title 360[5] speaks to the circular, contemplative space created when twelve quilts hang in a full arc around a room, surrounding the viewer 360 degrees. The bracketed 5 acknowledges the spiral of time, the way 365 days fold into the next year and the next.

[Be]longing holds the ambivalence at the heart of the whole project: to belong is also, always, to be longing — the two states inseparable, the tension between them the very thing that makes the work.
