The Art of Seeing Well

Being creative starts with ‘the Art of seeing well’. Can we live our lives with eyes wide open, searching out beauty and wonder around us? Ann Voskamp, in her book ‘One Thousand Gifts’ describes herself as ‘ a hunter of beauty and I move slow and keep the eyes wide open, every fiber of every muscle sensing all wonder…’ The intensely focused gaze searches out tiny gems. We see beauty and we soak in the moments… or we use our cameras to capture a glimpse of the now. The process of seeing well is underpinned by understanding the artistic principles such as balance, rhythm, composition, proportions and. We can learn how to ‘see-well’. We welcome you to the artistic journey of ‘Art in Eswatini’…and you don’t even have to leave home.

Slowing down time helps us to see well… ‘I just want time to do my one life well’.

‘How I look determines how I live…if I live’ (Ann Voskamp)
